If you ever find that you'll be in Washington DC
over New Years Day, be sure to attend the afternoon
parade at Southeast Barracks. Afterwards, all invited guests, in particular the USMC Band, is invited inside the Commandant's home for a toast with hot buttered Rum. It marks the last official issue of "Grog" in the Naval Services allowable by law.
