One of the common spots is
N36 13 05.4 W115 01 30.3
It's about 3x closer in distance to the runway. However, you might get some planes that are closer as they land.

Refering to Hank's link, "E" is a good spot. I've photographed helicopters going over point "A", though from further up the road. You may see the gun manned. The "bone" shot on that website probably dates back to the days when you could get under the flight line. THe B1B is really loud, so it always takes off towards the north.

Note that those on the "point system" will snicker at photographs with landing gear showing, at least during Red Flag. However, the E3 and EA6B will only be seen at Nellis. We did see the E3 from Coyote once, but it was quite far away.
