The dry lakes in Nye county have yielded meteorites as well as shown in the link. Most dry lakes in the area can be driven on, i.e. are not restricted. Obviously things get dicey near the TTR and NTS. The problem is these "stony" meteorites don't scream meteorite at you like those heavy iron meteorites you may have held in your hands at some musuem. The iron ones are really dense. I haven't handled a stony meteorite, but I'm assuming they are just like another rock on the desert floor. Bonnie Claire also has those "moving rocks", similar to "The Racetrack" in Death Valley, but a substantially easier drive.

Meteorites trade on ebay all the time. Authenticity is well, who knows.... At least when you buy radioactive rocks on ebay, a geiger counter will you if you have the real thing.
