Note that some meteorites have been found around Edwards, or in this case the nearby Rosamond dry lake. [see link] There are some famous meteorite finds around the Nellis ranges, such as at Quinn Canyon. Where a meteorite didn't fall is at the spot marked on the topo map "meteorite crater" north of highway 6, east of basecamp. The is the infamous Duckwater crater.

Helicopters generally fly at 500ft AGL, planes about 1500ft AGL, based on my observations (but not any sort of FAA rules).
