I think you must be right, Jim. I'm not used to such clear skies, so it probably over-impressed me. But forget grandkids. I had a novel about UFOs in the Calico area hit the stands recently and October is when reporters come calling for Halloween features, so I'll just consider it a little publicity gift from the heavens. BTW, here's a link to an image (Comet Halley) that's as close to what we saw as I've found. Toss it up in the air, tone down the red aura and it's fairly similar.
