You would be more likely to find owners of all these various GPSs on sci.geo.satellite-nav.

I would rule out the Street Pilot since you will need a handheld GPS while on foot.

I can tell you that to store the maps for the Nellis ranges (roughly what is bounded by 93, ET Highway, and 95) on a Garmin takes 16Mbytes.

Magellan has a few advantages over Garmin, such as the use of standard memory cards and the ability to do state plane coordinates. That said, I'd look at the Etrex series and figure out what you want to spend. For very slow hiking (like climbing nasty hills), having a real compass comes in handy. [Without a real compass, the GPS compares sequential waypoints to determine a virtual compass heading, and this can be inaccurate if you are moving slowly.] If you get a GPS that does maps, you will probably have to buy a CDROM with the topo info.
