I was very interested in this story, so I dug out my Tactical Pilot Chart for the area, TPC G-019D.

Around the 113/35 degrees it shows a small ranch but nothing suggesting a no fly zone.

However the map is a few years old and someone should check out the Notams to see if anything is listed.
I have taken a digital image of the area and if someone can host/post the image I will send it to you by e-mail and you can then post it on this site.
