The risk you take is if you hang out at the ranch, you might not see anything. That 20kft is probably MSL, since the dog fights I've seen there are nearly 2x Reveille Peak height. It might be a good place to shoot video since you really won't get to fill a camera viewfinder with a plane.

Of course, Reveille Peak has been climbed (desertsecrets.com), so somebody really hard core could get some good shots there, not to mention snoop on the base at the same time. It is 2x a Tikaboo in effort, plus the road to the staging area isn't really a road.

I might try hanging out at the ranch sometime if the hind is active. I'm told that it hangs out near the watering hole north of the ranch.
