Security at the Edwards open house last year was very lax. I had a cell phone in "the pocket" and it was detected with a wand. Here is the conversation:
Security:"Is that a cell phone down there?"
Me:" Yes, do you want to see it?"
Security: "No."
Nellis security was much more rigorous. They got every last coin out of my pocket and nearly discovered my er um "spinal tap" thing. ;-)

Edwards security is contracted out to the Kern County Sheriffs department, though I am sure there are mean guys in uniform once you get past the civilian patrols. The sherrif's department is on talk group 12816.

If it makes you feel any better, the Travis AFB show was cancelled this year.
