Re: Edwards AFB air show canceled

Edwards has a robust security force augmented by at least 100 Army National Guard troops. Last year, during the air show, they controlled the traffic flow by busing spectators to the flight line from a remote parking area, the guards inspected bags at entry checkpoints, and there were snipers on the roofs of various buildings. Gen. Pearson is not saying that security is an issue this year. He claims that the base personnel and organizations need to concentrate on testing rather than on air show activities. He implies that this is an Air Force-wide priority.
