The trick is to get the trash down without the bag breaking. You are doomed if you expect a 12 micron bag to survive the trip down. I brought a few bags up once but then realized I had better triple bag it so I don't leave trash along the trail. Even with triple bagging, they were ripping open. I had some duct tape to take care of that. The next time I bought a 1.3 mil bag.

I found those glow sticks annoy the mice, so I suggest bringing a few and placing them at your feet. However, when Black F150 and I did the hike in May, I didn't see any mice.

And will whomever is smoking up there kindly pack out the butts. Geez!
