Check out this site: http://superstringtheory.com/ Things you are talking about are predicted by theory of Strings and other theories, which try to unify Quantum Mechanics and Einstein's Laws of Gravitation, however no one as far as I know has proved those predictions by practice yet. And even if they will be proved, then most likely those things will be possible on a very low scale, elementary particles, not even atoms. Let's dream about transporting humans faster than light :) What is really funny, is the fact, that when American scientists tried to get budget money to build large particle accelerator, they were denied by Senate in favor of what do you think? our favorite Base! :)
