All U-2 variants use the bicycle landing gear, the pogos drop off during the takeoff run and on landing it is held as long as possible upright until one wingtip drags on the runway, there are skids built into the wingtips. Like everything else on the aircraft the landing gear was designed to be at minimum weight, a tricycle undercarriage would have been too heavy and too bulky to design in.
