I took a look at the attractions. Other than the Blue Angels, it doesn't look like a "must see" event. Why not call the PAO and ask where they locate the spectators? I provided a link to the airport diagram. If you are not looking south to south east, the light should be good. It sure sucks to drive a long way to find the planes are back lit.
