These are weekday photos taken in the late morning and are displayed at 4 meter resolution on the website. The actual images were taken at one meter resolution from an angle of 84+ degrees. Ikonos is only licensed for one-meter at the present time, but is capable of about .75 to .8 resolution. A new satellite is planned in the future that will provide half-meter resolution. Presently, half-meter resolution images sold by Space Imaging are taken from an aircraft, therefore no images of Area 51 will be available at that resolution until their new satellite is in place.
