I put a link to an interesting report on the NTS lightning. The storms tend to start around noon, which correpsonds pretty well with the time I had to turn around from Tikaboo or be fried. [I made it to the false summit, so all the hard work was over.] The storms peak in the afternoon, so if nothing hits by afternoon, it probably won't be happening in the evening. [There are evening lightning hits around the Spring Mountain range way to the south.] The thunderstorm activity starts in July and peaks in August. A bit more Groom Lake related, it turns out they have sensors at gate 700 and gate 510. Since we know there is a sensor at the back gate (aka north gate), that might be gate 510. Or maybe gate 510 is the gate near Mercury.
