Well, as for needing a Top Secret clearance to work for EG&G that's neither here or there. As for needing
a TS for the test site, well, probably.
About the underground storage tanks, not just on the test site, but most everywhere in the US the original way of putting some tanks underground has been nixed because of the environmental problems, i.e., leakage and soforth. So, above ground they go with containment areas.

And yes, there would be need for worker housing and recreational and sports facilities.
If you haven't seen how large Mercury is, well its a
good sized small town.
Also, with Bush wanting to do certain testing again there has been much upgrading and refubishing of the test site.

And, of course one couldn't say that they worked at
Groom.
But the Test Site is a far larger operation and in need of all the above and more.

And also don't forget that one might say worker housing and recreational sites because they could not say containment facilities, hangers or assembly buildings.

Again, if you don't have a scope for the size of the
facilities and area that encompass the Test Site,
go to this link and read on--

http://www.nv.doe.gov/nts/facilities/default.htm

There has been more "construction" on the site than in most good sized countries.
