Re: YF-113G/Bird of Prey?

The YF-113G was a classified prototype, not a MiG. Several types of MiGs receievd YF-113 designations with different suffixes. They were not all MiG-23 variants. The Bird Of Prey undoubtedly had a YF designator of some type because there was one Air Force pilot who needed to log his flight hopurs on his Form 5. Bird Of Prey, however, was NOT the YF-113G. The first Air Force pilot to fly the YF-113G was not the Air Force pilot who flew Bird Of Prey. HAVE BLUE may never have received a YF number because Ken Dyson reportedly never logged his flight hours during the program. TACIT BLUE did have a YF designation, but it was NOT in the 113 series. There are at least a few "black" aircraft yet to be revealed: a "classified demonstrator" flown by Air Force pilot Frank Birk in the mid 1980s and a Lockheed Skunk Works project from the mid 1990s.
