military ACARS (AIRCRAFT COMMUNICATIONS AND REPORTING SYSTEM

One of the DLRers who is into monitoring digital data over radio waves alerted me that the USAF is working on a military version of ACARS. It is supposed to be encrypted. Today one of the posts on the milcom list was an intercepted ACARS report from a USAF plane.

This is the first time I've seen this posted. It would be interesting if any of the planes around Groom used ACARS. Perhaps the Janet planes use the system, since they are somewhat civilian in nature.
