With the exception of Tikaboo, I don't recall any of the fire pits having grills on them. However, you can go to Home Depot (or whatever) and buy just the grill, i.e. not the whole BBQ. Just put a few rocks under the grill to keep it suspended. [One thing you can always find is rocks.] You can find dead wood just about anyplace, but you will need a pocket saw. It would be less work just to bring charcoal.

Coyote Peak is a good observation point, but not very private. You will get the occasional Walmart truck going down the ET highway, making stealth deliveries to the base. I think the camping spots along GLR would be a better idea, but avoid any spot that has cattle appeal (i.e. a water source). The powerlines have no cattle at all, but the wind is really nasty.
