Wow, I was there Saturday for a quick visit (first time in 11 years)...

A few comments on the "Groom" stuff...

F-117 - it's one of the full scale developement planes, one that actually flew out at Groom and actual flight hardware..

UCAV - X-45, it's just a chunck of fiberglass, but neat to see just the same. One thing that amazed me was the amount of washout in the wing, it seems like an awfully big aerodynamic compromise on a plane that is "controlled" by software.

Blackbird - they have an SR-71 and a YF-12a. More amazing to me was to see an actual D-21. (no, I haven't been to Seattle).

DarkStar- hanging in the rafters of the R&D hangar, it was the one that didn't crash...

B-2 - they are assembling a full scale "engineering" mockup in another hangar. To most people they'll think it's an actual airplane. It should be on display soon.

More interesting to me was about a half dozen UAVs from the past that were almost of the Global Hawk scale. Like these...

All in all, this place is a MUST for anybody with an interest in avaition...
