In looking at the photos of the new runway yes it could be used as a runway for light aircraft and possibly UAV's as suggested in earlier postings. But what is strange when runway's are built. They are built to the average prevailing wind direction of the area that is to be developed into an airport. This new runway is oriented almost 90 degrees from the main runways could this be a high speed taxiway for testing out or trouble shooting enigne related problems. any thoughts ? Now for us UFO types. Could this be the red carpet or grey carpet treatment, for the grey's he he :)
