There are several thunderstorms each summer, but it's nothing like farther south in Arizona, New Mexico, and the Lake Mead/Las Vegas area. The storms usually dissipate rapidly after dark, so they cause minimal delays on flight testing that occurs mostly late at night and in the early morning hours.
