I like the idea, but the need to have air superiority over the battlezone does limit the useage.
However, a 747 with a rotary cruise missile launcher, say, in place of the center fuel tank, could be usefull for stand off missions, and the addition of electronics and sensors (maybe a flying drone control base for the RQ-4A?) that would allow for the gathering of intel to be hit by missiles from the 747.
A possibility, but unlikely in the very near future.
Additionally, I remember reading somewhere about using a 707 as a Phoniex missile carrier, something like 20, 30 missiles in a load out. I'll look around and see if I can find more.
