Downed Longbow (OT)

This is a bit off-topic for this board, I know, but can anyone explain to me why the hell we would leave a (from appearances in the photos) relatively intact Longbow Apache just sitting in the open field where it crash landed? Why would we not destroy the wreckage. Surely the pilots had time to radio their position, as I said, the chopper looks completely intact.
It reminds me of the war in the Balkans, when we left the -117 wreckage for the soon-arriving Russian techs to pore over.
I'm quite sure the Iraqis have (or are planning to) turn over the Longbow hardware to Russian benefactors. I just don't get it.
