Well now that we are naming freqs, I got a signal on 408.025 with short data bursts like you described. The spot I mentioned is about half a mile down the road (south) from the road that leads to bald mountain.

I have no way to measure the beam width, but I did use body shielding technique to determine where the signal peaked on the ET highway. [The better technique is to track harmonics, but the 2nd and 3rd were too weak to detect.]

I haven't found Mt. Irish on the map, but found a notation for Mt. Irish Range at N37 25 59.4 W115 17 48.1 . This is too far south to be in the beam IF it is originating from Bald Mountain (not a proven fact).
The Mount Irish Range is only 24 miles from Bald Mountain. A beam wouldn't be needed, but of course it wouldn't be out of the question either.
