Beatty is a good indication. It would be very unusual for flights to Groom to be cleared to Beatty. However, some flights to TTR go straight across the NTS and the ranges. This seems to be the case mostly in the evenings, when the ranges are "cold".

A good indication is also the altitude, as you mentioned. I have never heard a Janet flight to Groom being cleared to above 15,000. TTR flights go up to 19,000, sometimes higher.
