There are rumours that the three supposd 'Brilliant Buzzard' aircraft were all parked on the Groom ramp sometime in the early 1990's so a Russian satellite could photograph them as part of the SALT or START treaty verification process. These aircraft are reported to be white or light grey in colour, and as large as a B747.

Apparently the Russians thought the 'BBs' had an offensive capability, so they were left 'outside' so the Russians could have a closer look and be reassured that they were only engine and mothership test aircraft.
