How about Straw Peak at N35.61999 W117.19254? While the main road to this peak must be restricted (since it starts from Seasite), it looks like there is a road at the back of the hill leading from the nearby dry lake to the "ghost mine". A bit OT, but I checked out the Bonnie Claire mystery landing strips near Death Valley. [Not the single strip, but the crisscrossed runways.] They were so overgrown that from the ground you could not see the runways. From a nearby hill you could see at one time there may have been runways there.
