I'd say I see elements of at least three western designs in the J-10. The nose section and intakes are reminiscent of the Eurofighter Typhoon, the fuselage and wings look (to me) like the JAS-39 Gripen, and the rudder and ventral strakes seem to be lifted from the F-16C.

Interesting that the Israelis were involved. Maybe it's more accurate to say the tail section looks like the IAI Lavi?
