No offense intended, sincerely--everyone has a right to his/her opinions and ideas. But the notion that we intentionally brought down a civilian airliner is ludicrous, as is the idea that we staged or participated in the 9/11 attacks. Now, I am not naive enough to believe our government is incapable of doing some pretty bad things, but what you're suggesting is well beyond plausibility.

I didn't exactly address your topic, I suppose. The THOR program itself, I feel certain, does exist, and may indeed be intended to bring down aircraft. But I think that if that is the case, it is more likely a defensive weapon, perhaps to be used to protect AWACS or other such vulnerable, high-value assets. Even if it were true that for some reason the U.S. government wanted to kill a bunch of civilians, there are plenty of simpler, less expensive, more efficient ways to bring down an airliner.
