Yes, Mike, this is pretty common. I used to camp near the Hwy a lot, and saw them come by several times a night. Sometimes they come out GL Rd and turn towards Alamo, but mostly the travel between the North Gate road and GL Rd. They never approach you if you are camped near the hwy, though. OTOH, if you are camped near the border you may get a visit at night.
