I was reviewing some stills I shot last year at the Main Gate during TE2K, and comparaing them to JANE'S Weapon Systems. Looks like one of the radars I go on my Celestron C-90 lens/Minolta camera was a SPOON REST A Early warning radar, with a THIN SKIN height finding radar closeby. Both are Russian/Warsaw pact and can be used in conjunction with the FAN SONG radar for the SA-2 Guideline SAM. Probably they are used for the RED FLAG exercises or just to see how the Russian radars see their experimental planes. Anyway, happy new year to all my friends and climbers on DLR, and wishes for another inquisitive year. For you guys on the other side of the fence, Bush is in so you can keep the projects moving. But drop us hints sometimes willya.
