Here is a photo of a radio site that Chuck Clark found on a ridge between the North Gate and Area 51. It can not be seen from any of the roads.

It is an interesting design. Looks like three rod antennas that are arranged around the pole at 120 degrees offset (similar to a cell phone site), and slightly tilted.

A solar panel or electronics box can be seen on the right at the foot of the pole. Notice how the cables are kept at a distance from the pole.

The site is located a couple of miles or so within the restricted area.

Any ideas what this might be?
