The road to the saddle west of Choc drop was ok when I went up a while ago. Definitely 4WD, and the last part is a pretty steep climb. Not sure if it is a good view spot, though. Your view is limited to the east by Choc Drop, and to the west by Tempiute. You can see the Rachel site of the microwave phone transmitter from there, and parts of the Lincoln Mine.
