I take that 1st part of your post to be a "yes" to my question - especially b/c you mentioned you'd worked on SDI stuff in some earlier post, when I'd quoted Tom Mahood's theory that the "Brilliant Buzzard" had been developed to carry sensors for tracking ICBMs and you'd answered that the heating caused by Mach 3+ flight would render such sensors useless...
