Last time I was at the Cherokee Mine, I thought the road was pretty good. There are
some very nasty branches I've explored, that I won't do again. I seem to recall I
needed 4wd to get as close as I could to Ray's impact point. Not difficult 4wd, but
that could have changed. The images of the LZ won't do any good until after you've
done a fair amount of walking. You can't see it from the end of the road (or whatever
you want to call the point at which you stop driving and start hiking). The LZ is sort
of over a rise, and you can't see it until you walk right up to it.
