I can't say for certain. All I can state is that 35,360 such flares were contracted and delivered by Martin/Marietta via North American Aviation Group (Now defunct, original producers of the Zulu rocket of WWII). At best guess, 10% of these rocket flares were actually used, the rest remianing in USAF inventory, even though the Night FAC program was officially cancelled as of 1979, when 'stralight' night-vision equipemnt was more widely available.

As an aside to any Vietnam USAF veterans I might have inadvertantly offended: I certainly did not mean to insult any when I inadvertantly forgot the 'Blind Bats' - C-130 dedicated 'flare-ships' that also used the rocket flares in various missions, including some over NORTH Veitnam, making them the only 'trash-haulers' to venture 'up north', nor the equally dedicated USN and USMC F-4 'Fast Facs' who 'borrowed' USAF rockets...
