A couple of days ago I was in St. George Utah.I was coming home by way of Vegas south on Interstate 15. About 5 miles south of Mesquite on the west side of the interstate their were F15s and 16s, some A10s and 2 130s. The 15s and 16s were doing some type of chase excercise. They seemed to be pretty close to the deck(maybe 2000 ft).The 130s and the A10s seemed to be flying a couple thousand feet above and were just along for the ride. I have not seen aircraft in this area before, is this a normal fly zone for exercises?
When I got back to Vegas went to the north fence at Nellis and saw many of the same type landing. Couldnt tell if they were the same as I didnt get tail numbers.I saw 4 B52s on the ground and 2 AWACS. Nothing much out of the ordinary, but its still exciting to have them come right over the top of the fence.
