If you ever get the chance to see the shuttle land at Edwards, it does a nice tight u-turn before landing. The turn was done well on the opposite side of route 58. Since this path is programmed in a computer and thus repeated for every landing, it would be nice to know the point where it makes this turn just to watch it close up. I suspect post 9/11 NASA won't give out this info.
