Every source which mentions 11x "designations" for Soviet types in USAF test squadrons calls the MiG-23 "YF-113" - never "(YF-)116". YF-113 was even listed under "aircraft flown" in the USAF short bios of two of 4477th's officers.

Well .... IMHO, _way_ too much ;-). Come on ... "96+21 -> 117", "84 -> 844" - you can "explain" _any_ number with this kind of logic.
