The 8-psi suit I mentioned was specifically designed for the "High Performance Space Plane," that was being developed in early 1980s. Which a shape like that of an enlarged SWERVE - i.e. slender delta wings, boat-tail aft with flaps, conical elipse (profile), and eliptical cross section. There were both manned and unmanned versions as well, with various air-launch to orbit options. And, yes, the suit worked during tests, so it should work operationally (we hope).
