Afganistan's weapons are both US and Russian. Remember, US foreign policy tends to be the enemy of my enemy is my friend until he is my enemy. The US gave Afganistan weapons to fight the Russians. The Taliban taking over was not the plan. Probably their US weapons are things like SAM and small arms.

Same deal with Iran and Iraq. In fact, the US dealing with Iraq were much more profitable since the US gave Iraq loans to buy USA agricultural products. These loans were never paid back. Then we gave them some weapons and intel.
