A B-52 Naviagator told me at an Airshow in the UK last year. That the USAF intends to modify 9 B-52H's as EW aircraft in the next few years. I don't know what this has to do with the F-117 though, if anything at all!

I wonder if they'll use the EW B-52's as part of a strike package. Maybe as cover for the F-117's, sounds a bit too risky to me, considering how big the Buff's RCS is. I think it would have been wiser to modify some of the 30 odd B-1's the USAF in going to scrap and convert them into a EW platfrom. Could call them the 'EB-1'.

Afterall the USAF has lacked it's own EW aircraft since all the EF-111 Ravens were retired. Too much work and dependence on the elderly EA-6's by the USAF, USN and USMC.

Thats all I know about it!
