I camped right on top nine years ago. It was a fantastic night with no wind. We left our truck about 8pm on a very hot day and camped in the saddle just above the awful steep part. While my kids slept, I hiked the rest of the way to the top. After breakfast we continued to the top and hung out for a few hours. I made a quick trip back down to the truck for all the water I could carry. We pitched our tent right on top. It was a kick being able to sit up in the sleeping bag at anytime during the night and check for Groom Lake activity. We could see lights but no real aerial activity. Maybe I should post a trip report with photos?
