There are a lot of wrecks out on the "range".....I recall a couple of crashes (F-100's) while I was at Nellis (AFB)........We had a "5" crash into the subdivision to the south of Nellis......

If you recall in the movie Top Gun.....the flight instructor called for the "hard deck" to be (what was it, 10,000 ft)?.......We lost a 100 or two because they were flying a true harddeck....0ft.....you are going so fast the the gradual rise of a dry lake bed is hard to detect....
