I was thinking that it must have some major disadvantages. If you consider the price of it vs. the equipment has been being used for panoramic severity 51 that's gotta be some major sacrifices. Hopefully you can lock the mirror to overcome that problem but you know Nikon has good quality equipment I really doubt it will be up to do much in the range required.
