One of the things you can observe looking at Bing/GE/Yahoo/FlashEarth/Teraserver sat photos is that the desert is an easily scared surface.......Paths/trails/roads/scraps or anything man made (once made) will last for eons and eons.....As Peter said that there is no evidence that construction or other activity has even been going on at Papoose dry lake bed........
