Not to get into the donuts-on-a-rope thing again, but you remind me of this... I remember seeing a letter to the ed. of Aviation Week a few years ago, in response to one of the articles we all remember about black projects and desert mysteries. This letter was quite short, but got published because of where its author was writing from. Paraphrasing, the full text of the letter was as follows: "This odd contrail mentioned in the article must surely be a natural atmospheric phenomenon. Because here in Eastern Europe, we see these things all the time. Honestly, it's almost like they're on a schedule." ;-)
