That reminds me of a quote from one of my all time favorite sci-fi movies, Independance Day, that came out about 18 years ago.

I believe they are talking about funding for Area 51, when Julius Levinson says "you don't actually think they spent $20,000 on a hammer, $30,000 on a toilet seat, do you?"

Hahaha....the $150 hammer, surely it is not made of gold or titanium?
